Overview
Our client is a mid-sized public oil & gas company based in Calgary. Currently there is a need to add a Financial Analyst to the team. This is a full-time opportunity reporting to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in the month end process including preparing the Company’s internal financials and supporting workpapers including; G&A accruals, interest accruals, ARO, depletion, E&E & foreign exchange;
- Analyzing impacts of new accounting standards, reporting requirements, and regulatory standards on existing and new transactions. Will have a key role in the implementation of the S1 and S1 standards;
- Prepare the Company’s quarterly and annual financial statements;
- Maintain and test the Company’s internal controls;
- Prepare the Company’s annual tax filings
- Prepare monthly analysis of operating results;
- Prepare a monthly cash forecast and bank reconciliation;
- Liaising with auditors; and
- Ad hoc reporting and projects as required.
Requirements:
- A recent or near completion of a CPA designation
- IFRS experience within a public practice required
- Experience with the Oil and Gas industry preferred
- Critical thinker and extremely detail oriented
- Team Player with strong interpersonal skills, able to be flexible and work well with others
