Payroll Coordinator

Salary: $90,000-110,000

Overview:

Our client is a large public oil & gas services company. This is a full-time role out of the Calgary downtown head office.  Parking provided, 100% in-office.

Responsibilities:

The Payroll Coordinator is accountable for the full-cycle processing of the Canadian payroll.  This role blends being an individual contributor with team oversight, working with the Payroll Supervisor to developing the skills and competencies of each team member. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Process payroll
  • Ensure all post-payroll tasks and responsibilities are completed on time, including all statutory remittances, garnishments, GL reporting, all payroll reporting, etc.
  • Group Benefits administration
  • Mentor and train team members
  • Work directly with managers, executives, and HR on special/ad hoc projects, payroll/data analytics, and custom reporting requests.

Requirements:

  • Payroll certification
  • 5+ years experience processing full-cycle payroll including Canadian payroll
  • Leadership experience preferred, but open to candidate with strong senior individual contributor experience.
  • Benefit administration experience
  • Experience implementing, working within, and participating in the on-going support of Workday is required.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is an asset
  • Highly competent in analytics and data management, including expert level MS Excel skills
