Overview:
Our client was founded in 2013 and is a public, growing midsized oil & gas exploration and production company, headquartered in downtown Calgary, with operations focused in Central Alberta. ~100 staff. ~20K boepd. Company growth has led to this hiring need.
You will have an integral role within the joint venture accounting group in the Company’s accounting department, with responsibilities in all aspects of the monthly accounting cycle. You will work collaboratively with all other departments in the organization while also contributing in ongoing efforts towards continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and validating charges for capital and operating expenses, ensuring ownership is correct, and operators are compliant with associated agreements for joint interest billings (estimated 50/50 operated/non-operated).
- Calculating 13th month adjustments as well as reviewing external 13th month adjustments. Assist with payouts.
- EnergyLink setup and maintenance
- Assessing third party processing fees and deductions
- Investigating and responding to internal and external partner queries
- Performing partner account analysis in both EnergyLink and Pandell JV4 and assist with both payments and collections
- Collaborating with Land, Joint Ventures, Operations, Master Data and Production Accounting to facilitate dispute resolution as well as perform appropriate correcting entries.
- Performing additional duties and projects as requested and time allows
Requirements:
- 10 years of previous related joint venture accounting experience, with experience on the EnergyLink system.
- Experience in complicated gas plants considered an asset.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a deadline driven environment with the ability to multitask assignments when required.
- Experience with Petronet, PAS, and Pandell JV4 systems is considered an asset.
