Consultant, Financial Reporting (optional remote)

Overview

Founded over 90 years ago, our client is a well-established non-profit organization in Alberta. With current accounting staff assisting with a software implementation, our client is looking for a Consultant, Financial Reporting who will report directly to the Assistant Director, Finance & Reporting.  This is expected to be a 3-4 month contract.  This role can be done primarily remote. 

Responsibilities:

  • Financial reporting
  • Annual financial statement preparation/close (external financial statements and advanced education statements for consolidation)
  • Dealing with external auditors
  • Some day-to-day operations accounting

Requirements:

  • CPA designation
  • 3+ years of post designation experienced
  • Experience with both public practice and industry preferred
  • Experience with Canadian Public Sector Accounting Standards including deferred contributions
  • Financial reporting and financial statement preparation
