Overview
Our client is a large Calgary-based public company that operates worldwide. This opportunity will start as a 2-month contract with the possibility extension or conversion to a permanent. Mostly in support of Q1 requirements. Company offers 1 day optional work remote every week.
Requirements:
- Preparation and of disclosure documents (financial statements and accompanying notes, MD&A, Press Release, etc.). This includes the following:
- MD&A write-up
- Balance sheet
- Statement of other comprehensive income
- Statement of cashflows and related workpapers
- Segment reporting
- Fixed asset continuity schedules
- Financial instruments
- Preparation of quarterly IFRS disclosure checklist
- Coordinate filing of the relevant documents on SEDAR and EDGAR.
- Calculation of incremental borrowing rate used for lease liability accounting.
- Review accounting for share-based compensation
- Review of month end accounting journal entries
- Review of month end foreign exchange rates
- Review of monthly balance sheet reconciliation
- Quarterly Goodwill impairment indicator check
- Research new accounting pronouncements and relevant IFRS issues and provide relevant disclosures in the financial statements.
- Support internal and external audit requests and inquiries for any complex technical accounting queries.
- Assist with ad-hoc transactions / projects.
Requirements:
- CPA/ACCA
- 7+ years of financial reporting experience including preparation of IFRS financial statements, working through disclosure checklists, and the ability to write MD&A
- Hit the ground running, a “doer” who is proactive to get the information required, internally and externally
- Prefer manufacturing experience, and public practise experience
- Strong preference for public company experience
- Experience with SAP and BPC nice to have
