HR Generalist

Industry: Upstream Oil & Gas
Compensation: $70,000-85,000

Overview

Our client is an internationally based energy company with operations in Western Canada.  Currently because of growth our client needs to add a HR Generalist to their team.  This is a permanent role reporting to the HR Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform full cycle recruitment including creating job postings, completing resume screening, conducting interviews, and supporting offer negotiations including putting together offers of employment
  • Work with hiring managers on strategies to find the right talent at the right time based on the workforce plan and budget
  • Form positive relationships with managers to fully understand their hiring needs and job specifications
  • Manage shortlisted candidates through the application process including advising candidates who are unsuccessful
  • Ensure the applicant experience is positive throughout the process
  • Utilize knowledge of multiple recruiting sources and recruiting strategies to find quality candidates.
  • Maintain the accuracy of the application process and ensure the recruitment process moves along
  • Full cycle payroll administration including processing semi-monthly payroll, new hire set up and terminations and answering payroll inquiries
  • Benefits administration and reconciliation
  • Filing and gathering information for reports
  • Other ad-hoc projects as required

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of previous experience
  • Relevant post-secondary degree or diploma program
  • Previous experience in the construction and/or oil and gas industry is considered an asset
  • Demonstrated relationship building experience with different level managers and supervisors
  • Strong team player and able to effectively collaborate
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • ADP experience is considered an asset
  • COVID vaccination
  • 5 days/week at employer premises
