Supervisor, Revenue Accounting

Our Calgary-based client is looking for a Supervisor, Revenue Accounting reporting to the Manager, Accounting.


  • Provide ongoing supervision and guidance to a group of professional accountants 
  • Obtain in-depth understanding of revenues, including revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS 
  • Work with our technical teams for the set up of new products and promotions within our customized billing systems, as well as ongoing maintenance of required reporting 
  • Liaise with our Commodity Tax team for proper product set up in accordance with provincial tax legislation 
  • Review of allowance for doubtful accounts analysis and recommend provision adjustments 
  • Analyze and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial results and prepare written analysis on revenue variances, including specific drivers
  • Work with Finance business partners in the preparation of budget and forecast and identify areas of risk and opportunity 
  • Review financial results with Finance business partnering teams and provide ongoing support 
  • Review or prepare and post monthly journal entries, review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts and working capital analysis 
  • Ongoing assessment of month end close process to identify workflow efficiencies and identify areas where Robotic Process Automation tools can be implemented 
  • Monitor processes to ensure ongoing compliance with documented guidelines and SOX requirements 
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors, technical teams, external vendors and all levels of internal operations teams 
  • Complete special projects, ad-hoc request and various other duties as needed


  • Accounting degree and completion of CPA program with minimum of 3 years post designation accounting experience
  • Supervisory experience nice to have 
  • Strong Excel experience a must have, including the use of complex formulas and Macros 
  • Proven ability to handle high volumes of transactions and analyzing large and complex data sets is a requirement 
  • A self starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
