Our successful and growing Calgary based client is well established and a leader in their industry. Growth has led to the need to a add a HR Specialist to their team. This is a permanent role reporting to the Director of Finance and will be the first dedicated HR professional within the company.


As the first dedicated HR person to join the team, you will have a variety of duties, including but not limited to the successful recruitment and on-boarding of staff both in Calgary and internationally (little if any travel required) and the on going improvement of policies, procedures, record management including payroll and more. Specific duties include:

Employee Success Management

  • Champion the client’s Vision and Core Values including regular feedback to the leadership team to not only sustain but improve the strong culture already in place.
  • Regular review and maintenance of compensation plans to ensure competitive compensation structure
  • Execute annual performance management procedures and assist with the administration of the annual bonus plan


  • you will be responsible for attracting top talent to a growing team (both domestically and internationally) and ensuring their success through the hiring and on-boarding process
  • Collaborate with the hiring manager to assess applicants' culture fit and relevant knowledge/skills/experience

International People Success

  • Work with leaders to evaluate immigration opportunities along with understanding the required steps to execute Canadian employees living abroad
  • Assist with on-boarding of international employees including, but not limited to, domestic program requirements and health insurance
  • Coordinate and schedule visa applications for various team members responsible for extensive international travel

 You will also assist with compensation and benefits administration including vendor relationships.


  • completion of CPHR Designation
  • A minimum of 5 years in Human Resources
  • Small company experience, including recruitment and procedure and policy writing considered an asset
  • Ability to grow with company, join leadership team in the future strong communication skills a requirement
