Our public Energy Services Company is located in downtown Calgary.  Currently there is a need to add a Financial Analyst, Operations to the team.  This is a permanent role reporting to the Finance Manager.


The successful candidate will work closely with the Operations Finance team, Operations personnel, and the Financial Reporting team to provide finance and accounting support to Operations. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for coordinating the month end intercompany balancing process and implement efficiency improvements in the process to balance intercompany account and transactions
  • Provide reporting to assist the Business Unit finance managers with insights and analysis into the financial performance of the business unit
  • inventory analysis and inventory splits by location
  • Responsible for preparing and maintaining the companies consolidated equipment count and utilization reports
  • Support payroll processing by monitoring ticket status and unlocking tickets
  • Provides adhoc reports and analysis as requested
  • Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal control
  • Monthly account reconciliations
  • Preparation and/or review of journal entries such as intercompany, prepaid amortization, month end accruals, etc.
  • Maintain the capital asset continuity schedules and verifies all additions and disposals are properly recorded to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Responsible for the transfer of AFE projects from WIP and into the Fixed Asset Subledger


  • Completion of an accounting designation
  • 3 to 5 years of post-designation experience
  • Industry experience with FP&A, reporting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft office, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Strong commitment to ensuring the deadlines are maintained and achieved while ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
