Our client is an international oil and gas trading/marketing company with Canadian operations based in downtown Calgary.  Reporting to the President, they are looking to add a Director, NG and LNG to their team.


The purpose of this position is to strategically build and grow our clients Natural Gas and LNG businesses with a keen focus on structuring physical/financial trading positions within the Canadian region.  This is a permanent role reporting to the President.   Specific duties include:

  • Lead the NG trading and LNG teams
  • Strategically growing the physical business through the development of new customer business and by growing our client’s asset portfolio in Canada and other new markets to be identified by the Company.
  • Develop and execute trading strategies and support traders in generating profit with discipline based on given DOA and company risk management rules.
  • Build the feed-gas portfolio and trading/scheduling function
  • Interact and coordinate with mid-office, back-office, and natural gas global team in order to support Canadian natural gas business development.
  • Meet accountabilities while complying with all relevant policies including risk, legal, regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with all key stakeholders, customers, and clients. 



  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university, MBA would be considered an asset
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience with an emphasis on NG trading
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with leading a team
  • Proficiency in trading platforms and risk systems
  • Strong communication skills and experience working directly with external or internal business clients
  • An enthusiastic team player with excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus who will work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Well organized, with an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office and related products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
